MLK Day

It was a lovely day for golf today. Sadly I had a bit of a stinker, and finished up with a score equal to my first ever outing. I always seem to do a reasonable job on the back 4.5, I just need to work on my opening game. Rich led the pack as usual, but Beau gave him a run for his money, gaining par on the first hole and leading by five strokes after the second. Analyse his stroke. Go on. I dare you.

Yesterday I played the Game of Thrones boardgame with Beau, Paul, John and Eric. It was good, clean fun - very true to the books, and very strategic, thanks to the elimination of any form of dice from the fray. We had some small excitement when the pizza delivery lady got trapped in Beau's elevator, but she was freed after about an hour, and the pizza wasn't even completely cold. The ninth round proved thrilling and decisive: I had encircled King's Landing in the hope of recapturing it from Treacherous John (that's your name from now on), but Paul's pacifist politics in the North had enabled Eric's dominion to grow unchecked, and he swept down the West coast and wiped Beau's House Tyrell from the board, capturing sufficient strongholds to end the game early. This isn't the end though...there will be a reckoning.

Yes, I am a geek.
