I spent most of the day finishing Resident Evil 4. Did I intimate that I thought I was nearing the halfway point yesterday? Well, I wasn't even close. The size of the game is amazing. I would go so far as to say it is a good size. And Capcom got really inventive this time out, indulging in all the tricks true 3D has brought with it, and changing up the game mechanics to break out of their mold in a way that Code Veronica didn't. The context actions are probably one of the best things about it - there's a fantastic knife fight performed using only these well-timed button combinations. To think when I killed the village chief I thought I was nearing the end. The castle, the mine-cart sequence, Salazar's tower, all this only to find there's a whole other freakin' island that needs conquering. The hardest fight was probably the second one with Krauser, who was quite the badass. I died 17 times, although the last few were because I didn't get off the tower before the explosives he'd planted exploded posthumously. By that point he couldn't put a scratch on ol' Leon, and was just chowing down on my magnum loads. Hoowah.

So what thought you of "revenge of the Sith?". I assume you couldn't resist seeing it right away.
FWIW I enjoyed it, but don't really want to see it ever again. Some great bits (yoda/emperor fight, the scene where ******'s mouth starts to drop down on one side and you realise [or is it realize - are you on American spellings these days?] he's the emperor, the operation to rebuild Vader etc.) marred by lengthy, unnecessary runarounds to distant planets, occasionally dreadful dialogue (the script editor must have died of an apoplexy a good two-and-a-half hours before we got to "medically she's perfectly healthy, but we're losing her. She's lost the will to live") and the

[fucking word limits] cartoon-like special effects (cf. Spiderman 1).
Overall, probably 7/10. But only once. Might get 5/10 on the first repeat viewing, or 9/10 if the DVD chapter marks are well-placed. George Lucas is still a c***, though.
Anyways... hope America is fun, and you haven't been drive-byed yet.
Love and cuddles.
