Thursday night Phil and Steve treated me to a double bill of Buffalo 66 and Tapeheads. The former is pretty cool, often unusual, in parts hilarious. The latter makes UHF look like high art. Definitely a skeleton in the walk-in closets of Messrs. Robbins and Cusack. Then, we drank.

Friday I received the news that as I am out of warranty, Apple will no longer permit me to buy a service plan from them. This seems entirely unreasonable to me, and extremely exploitative. The customer service reps were no help, though I suppose theirs is not the job to explain company policy (or is it?). I just find it irksome that they are stubbornly opposed to me giving them money in exchange for goods and services. I have drafted a letter of complaint to the corporate offices. Hopefully I shall maintain the resolve to mail it. It was with great satisfcation I proceeded to Blockbuster, in the hope of pre-ordering Halo 2 and thus sticking it to Mr. Jobs by giving Mr. Gates a share of my pay-cheque, but it turns out I've missed the window for pre-orders too. So now I may not get Halo 2 when it comes out. This may prove beneficial for my school career, but I can't believe how hard it is to spend money in this consumer-driven country.

Last night I watched the Hunted, which was sort of like The Fugitive 3, but I thought the knife-fighting was all rather inventive. Then I went to the HMS Bounty to meet Lucas, Mike, Nick, Nick and Rachel Middleman. I thought the bar was somewhat, to use Cipolla-ese, "ass", but Lucas thinks it's "the spot", and Mike has a little thing going on with the waitress. We stopped in at the Smogcutter afterwards, but I wasn't really in the mood for karaoke.

Hopefully I can get some German done before Lisl's party.
