I've been slacking somewhat with the updates, but now seems like a good time to say a little something, as it's either this or Greek. Plus, I'm in a pretty good mood having just caught the magic last couple of minutes of Charmed's Lady Godiva episode, 'The Bare Witch Project'. Oh, Alyssa Milano, I'm so glad you got rid of your bad lesbian hair. Now you are cute once more.
The most salient piece of news is, of course, to render my opinion on Resident Evil: Apocalypse, which I saw last week in the luxuriant surrounds of Mann's Chinese Theater. That movie kicked so much ass. Sure it was cheesy, and there were some very odd choices made in the script in the 3rd act. Oh, and some of the weird choppy photography was a bit jarring. And yes, the Nemesis looked a little hokey at first. But his chase of Alice was right out of a video game, complete with awsome unstoppability and rocket launcher. Plus, as is later discovered, Matthew G. Taylor (for 'tis the actor's name. Scary, huh?) is actually able to move in the costume, a feat matching the success of the Alien and Predator costumes in AvP. Both the zombies and the commandos were increased greatly in numbers, with a whole city as their playground instead of a little underground bio-weapon installation. That means both plenty of headshots from automatic weapons and plenty of people-munching. And S.T.A.R.S. finally makes its appearance in the movie world, including the delectable Jill Valentine. Oh, Sienna Guilroy. God bless you for fighting evil in a mini-skirt and a bodice.
What else? Well, last week I finally got my watch strap replaced. Now Mickey is no longer kept from perdition from a small strip of masking tape. Yay! Other than that it has been pretty much business as usual. School, TNDC, soccer, margaritas. You know the score. Yes, you.
Okay, Hippolytus. It's time.
