I am finally restarting this blog in its latest incarnation as an accumulation of art and sketches. By happy coincidence, Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art Skool has just been similarly resurrected here in Los Angeles by the fine folks at Baby Tattoo, and so I begin with the fruits of last night’s figure-drawing session at Billy Shire Fine Arts in Culver City. A challenge was issued to Horror-fy Danni (in honour of her role as Fangoria’s new Spooksmodel) during one of the 10-minute poses, which I answered with some rather hurried zombification (below). This sketch was one of those picked to win a prize, and I walked off with a copy of Miss Mindy’s Sassy Paper Doll Bonanza. Miss Mindy herself was in attendance, and was kind enough to sign it for me. She, like everyone else at the event, was super-friendly and cool. Can’t wait until the next meeting!
